Apple Pie is a classic and traditional American recipe, dating back to the old colonist times. In the States it is today a sort of a cultural icon, to the point that it is commonly called American pie. Apple Pie usually is a double-crust pie, with a rich apple filling in the middle, flavored with brown sugar and cinnamon. It is a no-egg dessert (the only egg is used to brush the surface before baking, but you can easily replace it with some milk), easy to make and really “appley”.
Since when I was a child, I’ve always been intrigued by Appple Pie… I love apple dessert, and when I read Donald Duck pocket books, and I could see Grandma Duck making apple pies all the time… I wished I could go to the States just to taste it! And now that I’ve finally decided to make it myself, I’ve realized a long-held dream 🙂
This Apple Pie is the first recipe of the year, and with it I wish you a super-happy new year! Kisses and have a wonderful 2012 :*

Ingredients for a 24 cm cake pan:
300 g of pastry flour
40 g of sugar
1 tsp of salt
150 g of butter
70 ml of water

Ingredients for the stuffing
misoprostol no prescription 1 kg purchase Asacol of apples
120 g of brown sugar
1/2 lemon
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of corn starch
20 g of butter

To cover the cake
1 egg
2 tbsp order Indocin of brown sugar

Preparation Time: 40 min.
Baking Time: 40 min.
Total Time: 1 hour and 20 min.

How to make Apple Pie

Put in a bowl flour, sugar, salt and diced butter.

Start combining with your fingertips, till getting a crumble mixture. Add cold water and knead till getting a smooth dough.

Cover the dough with some plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, let’s make Apple Pie stuffing.
Rinse, peel and slice the apples, put them in a large bowl and add the lemon juice.

Also add grated zest, sugar, cinnamon and corn starch.

Gently stir, so that apples will absorb the flavors.

Now take back the dough, and divide it into 2 pieces, one slightly bigger than the other.
With a roller pin, roll out the bigger piece on a floured surface, tll getting a sheet of about 0.5 cm.
Put the sheet into a floured and buttered pan.

Cover the base with an even layer of the apple stuffing, then add a few knob of butter on the surface.

Roll out the second piece of dough, and use it to close the pie. Cut away the extra dough: you can use them to make decorations.

Brush the surface with a beated egg or some milk, and make a few slits on the top of the pastry, to allow steam to escape during baking.

Spread some sugar on the surface, and bake at 180°C for about 40 minutes, or until the surface will be nicely golden.

Take out of the oven and let cool till tepid.

Slice and serve.
