Torta Moretta (Brunette Cake) is a soft chocolate cake, quick to make and really yummy. It’s perfect for breakfast, with some icing sugar, or to be decorated with sugar paste. I made it for the latter reason: I used it to make a decorated cake for Elisa’s name-day. It was moist and perfectly chocolatey 😉
While I fix the last things to post the whole cake recipe, hoping that wi-fi connection won’t fail, I leave you to the recipe to make Brunette Cake. A kiss, read you later!

Ingredients for a 22 cm cake pan:
4 eggs
200 g of sugar
200 g of flour
50 g of cocoa
100 g of butter
100 g of milk

Preparation Time: 15 min
Baking Time: 40 min
Total Time: 55 min

How to make Torta Moretta (Brunette Cake)

In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa and baking powder.

Whisk eggs with sugar till getting a light and frothy mixture.

Start to add, alternatively, flour mixture and milk.

Then add in melted and tepid butter, and vanilla essence.

Once got a smooth mixture, pour it into a pan covered with baking paper.

Bake for about 40-45 minutes in static oven preheated at 170°C.
