Making Ice Cream Wafer Bowls at home is easier done than said. Last week I was searching for some fancy way to serve ice cream, and I came into this easy recipe. Like a pound cake, with this recipe you will use equal weight of all the ingredients, so it will all depend on the egg white weight you are using: mine was a 35 gr white, so I used 35 gr of the other ingredients, and I got 8 bowls. It’s better if you divide them into batches, as you will have to be quite quick in modeling them into bowls (once they cool down, it’s impossible!) 🙂 You can then stuff them with some ice cream, of fruit salad, or just sweet whipped cream with some fresh fruit or chocolate chips… Just stuff them at the eleventh hour, or they will soak.

Ingredients for 8 wafers:
35 g of egg whites (1 egg white)
35 g of icing sugar
35 g of butter
35 g of pastry flour Accutane online
vanilla extract

300 ml of cream

Preparation Time: 20 min.
Baking Time: 10 min.
Total Time: 30 min.

How to make Ice Cream Wafer Bowls at home

Melt the butter, and let it cool till tepid.
Meanwhile, whisk the egg white and the icing sugar with a fork.


Add in the tepid melted butter, then stir in the flour and some drops of vanilla extract.

Cover the baking tray with baking paper. With the help of a cup (with a diameter of about 12 cm), outline 4 circles, quite far from each other.
Spread a thin layer of batter inside every circle, with a brush or the back of a spoon. Bake in pre-heated oven at 200°C.

Bake for 6-8 minutes: when nicely golden all around, they’re ready.

As soon as you take them out of the oven, quickly and gently lift them with a spatula.

While still hot, shape them into bowls: I put them over upside-down small glasses and very gently pressed them into their shape.
After this step, you can go on and bake the other wafers: otherwise, the first batch would cool down and you couldn’t shape them any more.

When cold, you can overturn your wafer bowls.

Whip the cream with 2 tablespoons of icing sugar. With a pastry bag, fill the wafer bowls with the whipped cream. Garnish with the sour cherries in syrup or some fresh fruit, and serve immediately.
