Oggy and the Cockroaches Cake: this was the cake Elisa requested to celebrate her name-day. So, this year I had to make all the characters: Oggy, Joey, Dee Dee and Marky… I admit: even with help by my sister and her boyfriend, this year I found it difficult, since time was limited and Elisa is making requests more and more precise… Not only she asked my for the cake theme, but also gave me instruction about the scene: “I want the cake with Oggy running after the cockroaches with a racket in his hand •_• Anyway, this year as well the hard work (working sugar paste with my poor ability and this torrid climate) was finely repaid by her face brightened with joy and surprise 😉
… I’m trembling at the thought of what she will request for her birthday 😛
Ingredients for a 22 cm cake pan:
200 g of sugar
200 g of pastry flour
50 g of plain cocoa get Valtrex
100 g of butter
100 g of milk
1 packet of baking powder
1 tsp of vanilla essence
300 g of ricotta
100 g of icing sugar
250 g of cream
100 g of chocolate chips
200 g of whipping cream
500 g of sugar paste purchase misoprostol of several colors
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Baking Time: 40 min
Total Time: 1 hour and 40 min
Whisk eggs and sugar till light and frothy (they will have to triple their volume).
Add flour, cocoa and baking powder, sifted together, in several stages, alternating them with milk.
Then add in melted (but tepid) butter and vanilla essence.
Pour the mixture in a pan covered with baking paper and bake at 170°C, in preheated static oven, for about 40-45 minutes.
Now let’s start to make stuffing.
Whip up cream (250 g), fridge-cold.
In another bowl, combine ricotta and icing sugar, then slowly add in whipped sugar, and at last chocolate chips as well.
Once completely cold, layer the cake into 3 disks (look here for the guide).
Place the first disk on a platter, and evenly distribute half fo the stuffing over it.
Cover with the second disk, add the remaining stuffing, and close with the third disk.
Now let’s start to decorate the cake.
Note: you can make (and stuff) the cake the day earlier, and so for the decoration you will have to place ion the cake. But, do not apply sugar paste over the cake in advance, as once covered with sugar paste you can’t store it in the fridge any more!
First and foremost, make decorations for your cake (better if with at least a few hours in advance, so that sugar paste will dry a little).
Whip up cream (the remaining 200 g), fridge-cold, and use it to cover the whole cake surface.
Roll out the sugar paste of the color you will use as base (I choosed white) till getting a thin sheet.
With a rolling pin, lift the sheet and carefully place it over the cake.
Gently make sugar paste cling to the whole surface, then cut away extra paste along the sides.
In order to give the cake a mild color touch and make it more feminine and “misyan”, I decided to add a stripe of marble lilac sugar paste around the cake sides.
At last, place the characters and decorations over the cake: stick them with some sugar paste glue.
