Today I’m posting the recipe to make Panuozzo at home. It’s a sort of panini of pizza dough, long and flat, stuffed with different ingredients, from classic mozzarella and ham to the yummier sausage and turnip tops 😉
This is one of Neapolitan specialties, that we also call saltimbocca… but they’re definitely different from Rome-style saltimbocca or Sorrento-style saltimbocca
If you’re searching for a fancy recipe to make on Saturday night, you can make this one for all your family and friends 🙂
I wish you a good weekend and, if you make them, let me know how have you stuffed them 😉
Ingredients for 6 panuozzos:
400 g of pastry flour
260 ml of water
6 g of baker’s yeast
12 g of salt cheap esomeprazole
Dissolve yeast in water at ambient temperature.
Mound flour in a bowl, and pour water in the middle.
Start to combine, then add salt, and knead till getting an even dough.
Cover the bowl with some plastic wrap and let rise for about 6 hours or until it will have at least doubled in volume.
Take back the dough and divide it into 6 small loaf.
Lengthen and shape them.
Place them on the oven tray covered with baking paper.
Sprinkle some flour over them, and let rest for about 30 minutes.
Bake in oven preheated at 220°C.
Cook for about 15 minutes or until slightly golden.
Let cool down, then cut in half horizontally, and stuff them as you like.
For example? Speck and cherry tomatoes 😉
