Today is Saint Flavia’s day: I’m celebrating myself with a yummy Strawberry and Custard Tart 🙂 Custard tart was the first kind of tart I’ve ever made, and today I’ve decided to decorate it with strawberries. If you prefer a shinier tart, you can brush some jelly glaze on the top. Best wishes to my dear friend, Flavia, who is in Spain: I dedicate this Strawberry and Custard Tart to you :-*

Ingredients for a 26 cm tart pan:
Ingredients for the shortcrust pastry
300 g of pastry flour
2 eggs
100 g of sugar
100 g of butter
1 zest of lemon, grated Topamax 100 mg buy Xenical online
1 tsp of baking powder

Ingredients for the custard
4 yolks
Strattera Buy 40 g of pastry flour
100 g of sugar
400 ml of milk
1 bean of vanilla
500 g of strawberries

Preparation Time: 30 min.
Baking Time: 30 min.
Total Time: 1 hour + 30 min. to refrigerate the shortcrust pastry

How to make Strawberry and Custard Tart

Mound the flour, make a well and add sugar, butter in pieces, eggs, zest, baking powder.

Combine the ingredients by quickly kneading till you get a smooth dough.

Cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, make the custard: start beating yolks and sugar in a mixing bowl.

Add the flour and stir.

Make the milk simmer with the vanilla bean for about 5 minutes. Take vanilla off, and blend the egg mix with the milk, slightly warmed up, poured in a drizzle.

Move into a saucepan and cook on a low heat until it thickens, stirring all the time to avoid lumps.

Once the shortcrust pastry is ready (after 30 minutes in the refrigerator), roll it thinly (about 3-4 mm).

Cover a buttered tart pan with the pastry sheet.

Level the edges, riddle the bottom with hole, than put the custard inside, evenly, and bake for 30 minutes at 180°C.

Take the tart off the oven and let it cool down. Meanwhile, wash the strawberries and cut them into slices. When the tart is ready (cooled down), arrange strawberry slices on the custard, starting from outside edge, in tight concentric (and slightly overlapped) circles.

Refrigerate the Strawberry Tart until just before serving.
