Beside that, I also had a new balsamic vinegar to try… So, here you have the recipe to make Sweet and Sour Green Onions, an easy and fancy side dish, ideal with a meat second course. Preparation Time: 10 min.
Cooking Time: 30 min.
Total Time: 40 min.
Wash green onions under fresh running water.
Melt the butter in a heavy-based saucepan, then add the sugar and stir.
Stir in balsamic vinegar and let cook for a couple of minutes.
Now add in green onions and some chopped chives, and stir to season evenly.
Add a small cup of hot water, cover with a lid and cook on a low heat for about 30 minutes, just stirring every now and again. If they get too dry, just add some extra water.
Turn the gas off and serve Sweet and Sour Green Onions.
