Today I’ve made the first ice cream of the year: I’ve decided to start with Vanilla Ice Cream.
I’m posting a recipe to make it with no ice cream maker. You may also add any extract or flavor to make different tastes of ice cream.
Preparation Time: 15 min.
Total Time: 15 min. + 2 hours in the freezer
Separate yolks and egg whites. Beat the yolks with the sugar, and whisk the whites till stiff.
Whip the cream together with the vanillin.
Slowly and gently add the three mixtures.
Amalgamate very gently the extract you’ve chosen: in this case, vanilla!
You must put your Vanilla Ice Cream in the freezer for at least 2 hours. Let it rest at room temperature for a few minutes before serving in ice cream bowls.
Depending on how long you have taken it in the freezer, you can serve it as an ice cream, or as a frozen custard (semifreddo).
